Privacy Policy

Sami El Sabri built Linguify as an open-source app. This service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of information if anyone decides to use my service. If you choose to use the service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The information that I collect is used for providing and improving the service. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this policy.

Information Collection and Use

To enhance your experience with Linguify, you will need to link your Spotify® account when using our service for the first time. This allows us to collect essential information from your account, such as your Spotify user ID, username, profile picture URL, country, playlists, liked artists and songs, stats, play history, and Spotify IDs of your top 50 tracks and artists. This data is obtained via Spotify's Web API and will be stored on Anaconda's PythonAnywhere.

The information collected is used solely for aggregating data to provide comparative analysis through Linguify. For detailed information on the data we may collect, please refer to the Spotify Web API’s documentation. You can turn off the sharing setting and revoke others' access to view your profile at any time within the Spotify app. When you do this, your name and profile picture URL will be deleted from Linguify.

Cookies

Linguify uses cookies to maintain your login state. You have the option to accept or refuse these cookies and to be notified when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse cookies, some features of the service may not be accessible.

End User License Agreement (EULA)

By logging in and using this app, you agree that:

  • No Warranties: Spotify’s services and content are provided “as-is” without warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a purpose.
  • Prohibited Actions: You may not modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of Spotify’s platform, service, or content.
  • Liability: Only Linguify is responsible for your use of this app. Spotify is not liable for any issues arising from it.
  • Third-Party Rights: Spotify is a third-party beneficiary of this agreement and can enforce its terms directly.
